ETEL- August 15th ,2012

Etel is a fishing-harbour which is situated on a river whose estuary is barred by a dangerous sand-bar and quite a few sailors lost their lives there. The boat in the pictures is a rescue-boat manned by volunteers from Etel.I think they were out on that day to drop a wreath in memory of those who lost their lives at sea. At the time I took the photos , a helicopter with a diver on board was circling over the other side of the estuary , searching for a young man who got caught in the surf and drowned. It was bright and sunny but very windy. The waves breaking over the sand-bar were spectacular.I also took a picture of a plant growing in the dunes above the beach, a sea-holly.
