In a coastal environment one expects to see rock pipits and sometimes one may wonder whether the bird we are watching is a meadow pipit or a rock pipit . Looking at its posture may help to identify the bird. A rock pipit will stand upright whereas a meadow pipit crouches. Also the meadow pipit has a distinctive long hind-claw.This image shows these two features very well.
Dans un environnement côtier, on s'attend à voir des pipits maritimes et parfois on peut se demander si l'oiseau qu'on observe est un farlouse ou un maritime.La posture de l'oiseau peut aider à l'identifier. Un pipit maritime se tient debout bien droit tandis qu'un farlouse a une posture accroupie. Ce qui distingue également le farlouse ,c'est le long doigt postérieur. Cette image montre bien ces deux traits distinctifs.
